The INCAS³ supervisory board consists of four members. Three members representing the industry, the scientific community and the government and an independent chairman.

James van Lidth de Jeude

James van Lidth de Jeude (Zeist, 1945) worked as a physics teacher at Comenius College in Hilversum from 1971 to 1982. He began his political career as a councilor and later became an executive board member of the municipality of Utrecht. He spent 13 years as the mayor of Deventer and was also the acting mayor of Almelo for several months. In addition, he was a member of the Brinkman Committee for the reorganization of specific-purpose grants, chair of an inter-administrative steering committee for planning and control and also the chair of the Water Museum in Arnhem.

James van Lidth de Jeude completed an education in mathematics and physics at the University of Utrecht and earned his postgraduate degree in experimental physics.

Barend Botter

Barend J. Botter (Assen, 1950) began his career in 1978 as a Petrophysicist at Shell. After a considerable period of time spent working abroad at Maersk Oil & Gas in Copenhagen and Shell Expro in the UK, he returned to the Netherlands in 1998, initially as a project manager in the upstream organization at Shell and then as a Senior Business Advisor in the Natural Gas department at Shell Nederland.

In 2005, he was transferred to the NAM (Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij), a 50/50 joint venture between Shell and ExxonMobil and the largest producer of natural gas in the Netherlands, where he now fulfils the role of Corporate Affairs Manager. In addition to his responsibilities within this role, he was also appointed Deputy Managing Director of the NAM on August 1, 2009.

Barend Botter obtained his doctorate with distinction in Physics at Leiden University.
