The cochlea sound processing package contains an implementation of the transmission line model, originally by Duifhuis et.al. The model is implemented in C++ and runs in real-time on modern computers.
The model implements the 1-dimensional, non-linear Cochlea model with Zweig impedance. All experimentally important parameters are available.

Feature list

  • File and microphone input as well internal test stimuli
  • Linear or non-linear model with different non-linearities:
    • Duifhuis non-linearity
    • Van Hengel non-linearity
    • Epp non-linearity
  • Zweig-impedance
  • Real-time processing on modern computer hardware
  • Available for Linux, Mac OS X and windows (in preparation)

Deliverable

  • A software implementation of the nonlinear Cochlea model with Zweig impedance in C++ that runs in actual time on a modern computer.
  • Software libraries
