The goal of the scientific research conducted at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research is to understand the structure and behavior of the world that surrounds us. In addition to broadening the understanding of the world, this knowledge also serves as a basis for technological progress in all areas of our lives.The research collaboration focuses on the basic mechanisms of nuclear processes, which will eventually lead to more advanced detection methods for small nuclear particles.
