ElenaTalnishnikh

Elena Talnishnikh works as an industrial researcher in the Radiation Detection Group. This group is involved in developing and improving detectors for elementary particles. The main applications of these detectors are monitoring nuclear power stations remotely and measuring radiation from natural sources.

Before joining INCAS³, Elena worked as a researcher at the Laboratory of Biophysics at Wageningen University. The focus of this research was on exploring new applications for mobile NMR in plant science.

Elena earned her Ph.D. in Physics from the Institute for Technical and Macromolecular Chemistry at the RWTH Aachen University. At the end of her doctoral project, a mobile Halbach scanner was developed for geophysical applications.

Elena received both her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Saint Petersburg State University where she studied physics with a specialization in molecular spectroscopy.
