Erik is working as predoctoral researcher to write a proposal for his PhD.

Erik earned his master’s degree in Applied Physics at the University of Groningen. He did his master’s thesis at the Proton Theraphy and Medical Imaging group of the Nuclear Physics Accelerator Institute (KVI). He designed and validated a Compton spectrometer to accurately measure the spectrum of medical X-ray imaging instruments and to determine mass attenuation coefficients of biological tissue.

During his study he did an internship at the Image Processing Laboratory of the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina about the phenomenom of Ghost Imaging.
